    Default EPG Crashes

    Hi guys.

Dunno what the problem here is. Whether it's related to the fact that the box is running de bh 1.0 in multiboot via barry allen or not ?! But, what's happened is this. I've been doing manual updates and updates via a shell script (running the commands required to get the data from the server), and sometimes, it seems to crash the box. Not all times tho?!

Anyway, tonight, it crashed twice on me... It was after doing manual updates for a few epg datas (did about 4 on each crash). Dunno whether it's related to the fact I was using the beyonce 2 dm800 skin or not?! But, I changed the skin to the army class hd skin, and ran all of the epg data updates, and it didn't cause any crashes. So not sure whether it's related or a coincidence.

Anyway, have attached the log files (which were also sent to dmm through the auto crashlog submit).

Hope this helps and we can sort out what causes the crashes...

    Cheers

It has nothing to do with skin but with full EPG cache.
You have download to much EPG data

    11300129 bytes for cache used
What practically means that you cannot download infinitely all the providers
but really only the one / those who are you using
Even in this case it can happen to crash enigma if you have full cache
    system is still not ideal

OK, does this mean that it's something that will be fixed by dream-elite team at some point in the future, or is it a dmm enigma2 problem?

Trouble is, that I use virtually all of the epg data downloaded. Guess I'll just have to put up with just getting the most important epg data.

Just out of curiosity, is this cache limit for the actual size of the epg file when being created, or just a temporary cache whist it's being created?

This would be explained with a glass of water
when the glass is full nothing can go more into it ..
All process is not known to me also
Will anyone make improvements I do not know
Of course we do, on further improvements in image and EPG.

    I think
If you are using less process / plugins, addons, you can download more EPG .

On Dream elite download server and Image script download
you can find scripts for EPG backup that can help
in some cases not to lose epg.dat file

Some remarks and additions to my earlier writing,

My advice for those who are downloading much EPG
    shall make the SWAP file
I have tested today on VU duo but I think it's the same on Dreambox
I have test with a swap file of 32 Mb on USB stick I had no problem to download all possible available EPG
without the image collapse/crash.But you must not download 3 times the same epg in one day.
